About 3 months ago autel released an update for android, has autel stopped releasing
update for maxisys pro android system operating or because of maxisys elite the did
that.

No android update, those we had were system updates. The new elite will have an
updated android version I think is called ice cream or popsicle or something of that
nature.

Yes other browsers can be installed, I readed on the forum somewhere.

Just install the Amazon app store app (look on Amazons site for info how to do so) then find what ever 3rd party browser you wish from the Amazons app page..
I've had this scanner/tablet for over a year & the limitations of not having "PLAY" support let alone even a newer OS is a huge downfall on this device.. Even if the OS was atleast 4.2.2 it would allow such a smoother as well as an easier slate for the developers to work with.
Yet nothing is in the works.
So a simple trade for a Launch or other user friendly as well as unrestricted platform unit may be in my future.
3k for this device with so many restricts is a pretty big pile of BS in my opinion.
Thus the reason many of us older user's were pushing for "root" access.
But whatever, it is what it is in the end.
